As the FIFA World Cup approaches, Bellevue is gearing up to offer residents and visitors a rich array of events and activities that celebrate the global spirit of soccer. While Seattle will host several matches, Bellevue is ensuring that the excitement resonates throughout our city.
Community Celebrations and Watch Parties
From June 11 to July 19, Bellevue will be alive with soccer-related festivities. Local organizations, supported by the city, are organizing public celebrations near light rail stations on Seattle game days. These events aim to create a vibrant atmosphere, bringing the community together to share in the World Cup excitement.
Additionally, various watch parties and World Cup-themed activities are planned across the city. Venues like Mirra, an interactive games venue and bar in the Bellevue Collection, are preparing to transform their spaces into lively hubs for fans to gather and enjoy the matches.
Supporting Local Businesses and Cultural Events
The city is collaborating with partners such as the Bellevue Downtown Association, Visit Bellevue Washington, BelRed Arts District, and the Spring District Authority to host community-centered programming. This includes soccer-themed fashion shows, art walks, and live music performances, all designed to engage residents and visitors alike.
For those interested in hosting their own events or watch parties, the city offers resources and guidance on marketing and permitting to ensure a seamless experience.
Transportation and Accessibility
With the new light rail connecting Bellevue directly to Seattle, attending matches and related events has never been more convenient. The city encourages the use of public transit to ease travel and reduce congestion during the tournament period.
As Bellevue welcomes an estimated 15,000 overnight visitors during the World Cup, the city is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment that reflects our diverse and vibrant community.
