Bellevue, Washington, offers a dynamic arts and culture scene that reflects the city’s diverse community and creative spirit. From public art installations to annual festivals and dedicated arts districts, there’s something for everyone to explore and enjoy.
Public Art and Museums
Art enthusiasts can embark on a self-guided walking tour of downtown Bellevue, where nearly 130 public art pieces adorn the cityscape. These installations range from soaring sculptures to vibrant murals, each telling a unique story and contributing to the city’s cultural fabric.
The Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM) has been a cornerstone of the local arts community since its founding in 1975. While the museum’s physical building was sold to KidsQuest Children’s Museum in 2026, BAM continues to host limited community events and programs, including the annual Bellevue Arts Fair Weekend.
Annual Festivals
One of the city’s most anticipated events is the Bellevue Arts Fair Weekend, held annually during the last weekend in July. This vibrant celebration features over 350 artists showcasing their work across more than 20 mediums. Attendees can enjoy live performances, interactive art projects, and a variety of global cuisines from local food vendors.
Another highlight is the Bellevue Jazz & Blues Festival, which spotlights top national and regional artists. This community cultural event attracts a diverse audience eager to share and explore their passion for live jazz and blues performances.
BelRed Arts District
The BelRed Arts District is a treasure trove of creative organizations and businesses. For decades, artists from various disciplines—including musicians, cultural bearers, martial artists, and creators—have made, performed, rehearsed, and gathered in the area’s post-industrial warehouses and retro strip malls. The district boasts over 60 creative organizations and businesses, making it the highest concentration of arts and cultural entities in Bellevue and the eastern side of Lake Washington.
Whether you’re a longtime resident or a visitor, Bellevue’s arts and culture scene offers a rich and diverse array of experiences that celebrate creativity and community.
