Bellevue Residents Express Confidence in City Direction Amid Financial Concerns

Recent findings from the 2026 VIBe Check survey indicate that 75% of Bellevue voters believe the city is on the right track, marking the highest level of optimism in five years. This annual survey, commissioned by the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, provides insights into residents’ perceptions on various issues.

Public safety remains a strong point, with 96% of respondents feeling safe in downtown Bellevue during the day. The Bellevue Police Department enjoys an 86% favorability rating, reflecting consistent community trust.

However, the survey also highlights growing financial concerns. Approximately 74% of residents report worries about their personal financial situations, up from 61% in 2023. Additionally, 60% feel that taxes are too high relative to the services received, and trust in the city’s fiscal management has declined from 71% in 2021 to 53% in 2026.

These findings underscore the importance of balancing community development and safety with economic considerations to maintain Bellevue’s positive trajectory.
