At Bellevue High School, athletics isn’t just another part of student life—it’s woven into the fabric of our community. From world-class facilities and a broad sports slate to strong booster support, Bellevue committedly supports young athletes in more than one sport, year after year.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
The Bellevue Field House anchors the high school’s sports infrastructure. Along with the Gene Gore Weight Room, it features an indoor turf practice field, batting cages, locker rooms, coaching offices, and a deluxe conference room—all providing safe, modern spaces for training and competition.
BAF Stadium also stands out. With guest bleacher seating, a synthetic turf field, and upgraded sound systems, this stadium is built to host big matches and community gatherings—and it shows up in the turnout.
Diverse Sports Offerings
Bellevue High offers a wide array of sports across fall, winter, and spring seasons through the Bellevue School District. Students can join teams in football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, swimming, wrestling, lacrosse, tennis, soccer, softball, and more. Many sports require tryouts (“cut sports”), ensuring that athletes are both challenged and supported.
Importantly, the district makes sure athletes from all Bellevue high schools—Bellevue, Interlake, Newport, Sammamish—have access to competitive offerings. Some sports are combined teams to pool talent and resources when needed. Whether it’s girls’ swimming or coed track and field, chances to participate are broad.
Coach & Community Support
Behind every team, coaches and boosters play a huge role. Booster clubs help with gear, gym time, travel, and even spirit-wear so that student athletes can focus on training and competition, not logistics. Every fall or spring, tryout dates and mandatory meetings offer structure and clear expectations.
Front-offices for athletics at Bellevue High ensure safety and eligibility: concussion protocols, physicals, code of conduct, and scholastic requirements — from Associated Student Body membership to defined practice schedules.
Why It Matters Long Term
These investments lead to more than wins. Athletes gain discipline, teamwork, and resilience. They’re more likely to graduate and feel connected to school. Plus, consistent facility access and transparent rules help build trust between students, coaches, and families.
For Bellevue residents, that means stronger teams and a supportive environment for youth. Whether your goal is competing at the highest level or just staying active and part of something bigger, Bellevue High maintains a foundation that makes that possible.
