Engaging with Bellevue’s Vibrant Community Organizations

Bellevue is home to a diverse array of community organizations that play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents. These groups offer numerous opportunities for individuals to connect, contribute, and grow within the community.

Hopelink: A Pillar of Support

Since 1971, Hopelink has been dedicated to ending poverty in the region. Annually, they assist over 64,000 low-income individuals through programs that provide stability and equip them with skills to exit poverty. Their services range from food banks and energy assistance to literacy training and employment skills development. Hopelink operates service centers and food banks in Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Sno-Valley (Carnation), and Shoreline.

Kiwanis Club of Bellevue: Serving Since 1951

Established in 1951, the Kiwanis Club of Bellevue focuses on advocating for and supporting programs that benefit local children, youth, and families. Their initiatives include sponsoring scholarships, supporting elementary school breakfasts, and advising high school leadership and community service ‘Key Clubs’. The club’s mission is encapsulated in their belief that “one can make a difference, one child and one community at a time.”

Jubilee REACH: Building Trusting Relationships

Jubilee REACH aims to build trusting relationships, hear the needs of the community, and collaborate with local organizations to develop programs serving those in need. Established in 2006, they offer a variety of programs under their four REACH models: Community REACH, Event REACH, Business REACH, and School REACH. These programs rely heavily on volunteers and focus on assisting underserved families, particularly in Bellevue’s Lake Hills area.

BelRed Arts District: Cultivating Creativity

The BelRed Arts District fosters a vibrant creative community in Bellevue by uniting artists, makers, and small businesses through arts, culture, and innovation. With over 50 creative enterprises rooted in formerly industrial spaces, the district supports accessible programming, public events, and opportunities that strengthen social and economic vitality. Through initiatives like Bellevue Cares, groups can support the district via direct donations that help sustain affordable creative spaces and expand arts programming.

Engaging with these organizations not only enriches individual lives but also strengthens the fabric of our community. Whether through volunteering, attending events, or supporting local initiatives, there are countless ways to get involved and make a positive impact in Bellevue.
